The Wedding

Our Wedding was Saturday May 20,2006 at 6pm. We held the ceremony and the reception at Lewisville Town Square. Pastor Leroy Davis Officiated. He is a friend of the family, Chris and his sister Jenny grew up around Pastor Davis, he married Jenny and Steve just the May before. It was an honer to have him bring us together in marriage. Our colors were Victorian Lilac and Ivory, my dad wore a sage green vest. My cousin's boyfriend Seth and his sister Serah did the music, and it was oh so beautiful. The Best man was Chris' dad, and his groomsmen were our friends, Addam Geren, Grady Ryan, my brother Alfred T. Porter III, my brother-in-law Brad Thompson, and Chris' brother-in-law Steve Mott. My Matron of Honor was my sister Allison Thompson, and my maids were our friend Kelly Ryan, my cousins Courtney Tucker and Whitney Miller, my sister-in-law Kyleigh Porter, and Chris' sister Jenny Mott. Our ring bearers were my nephews David and Dalton Thompson, and the flower girl was my niece Sara Beth Thompson. Julie Ronquillo was our attendant, Chad Griffith, and Shawn Pellerin were the Ushers.

It couldn't have been a more wonderful day! The sun was shining, there was a breeze blowing, it was just perfect. We had an ice cream truck that rode by the square during the ceremony playing its a small world, that was pretty funny. The unity candle wouldn't light either because of the breeze, but I needed that breeze because it was HOT under all that crinoline!

The Proposal

On the 19th day of June the year 2005 Chris, Gabe(My roommate at the time), and I hopped in the car heading to Myrtle Beach to spend a week with my family. We arrived, got unpacked, and started to relax. The next morning Chris and Gabe started blowing me up trying to get me to go down to their condo, and they wanted me to bring my camera. I was so irritated, I couldn't understand why it was so imperative that I come right that moment we were gonna be there for a whole week, anyway the view from my condo was better( I was in an ocean front room). Finally I just gave up and headed down there. I hit the door complaining(like usual) "Why do we have to do this right this second, and how are we gonna get a picture of all three of us?" Gabe rebuttals with " I'll take you and Him, and you can take me and him." "Whatever...lets do this". So Chris and I posed Gabe asked if we were ready, I thought he had already taken the pic, of course I was ready we were on our way to the pool! Before I knew it Chris was down on one Knee, I though I was gonna fall off the balcony!


What a man, just so everyone knows, He did go a few weeks prior and asked my dad for my hand in marriage. Daddy told him that if he hurt me he would track him down, cause I am his baby girl. But I think the two are allot alike, so Chris understood.


We sat the Date for May 20, 2006.

The Beginning

April 28, 2004~ My cousin Erin's 22nd birthday, we decided to go to Tripp's to celebrate. We had invited a few people, including the guys that Erin and I had been dating. Now these two guys were younger than us and they lived in Raleigh, needless to say we were stood up. I was very distraught over this, Erin was really unaffected, cause she had just started seeing her guy. Well one of the other guys that she had invited was this guy Chris who worked at the Nextel booth. He called asking if he could bring a friend, well of course that was okay. It was pretty sad anyway just her and I sitting there alone on her birthday. Turns out that his friend was also his boss at the carousel, Chris was the same one who let Erin, I and my niece ride a month or so prior to us meeting. So they showed up, and it turned out to be a pretty good time. Chris noticed that I was clearly upset over being stood up, so he sat with me at the bar and we talked, I know we sat in there the majority of the evening. I walked out of that restaurant that evening on the verge of love, and I knew it.


Just for the record, later I did find out that on the way to Tripp's that evening, Chris told Chad that he didn't care if he went for the other one, but the tall dark headed girl (Erin)was hands off.


Through out the course of the next few weeks Erin and I had taken a few trips to the beach(we were total beach bums that summer) but on the long road trips she would call Chris to talk, but it would always end up being him and I talking for hours at a time.

May 05, 2004~ We had our very first kiss in FUBAR ( The club Chris played at when we met)

May 11, 2004~ at 3:33pm Chris asked me to be his girlfriend ( He was so nervous!)
