3 months

As Cara nears the 3 month mark of her life let me update you on how much our 2nd little miracle is developing...

I had posted in her 2 month post that I was concerned about her head circumference not growing as fast a it should or at the same rate that Addie's did (I know that they are two different children, but I can't help but compare their development) well turns out that Cara being the wiggle worm that she is moved while the nurse was measuring her head last month and she read it wrong.  So all's well with her head!

Speaking of wiggle worm... this child is ACTIVE!  Addie (here I go again...) we could put her in the bouncy seat and not buckle her in and she wouldn't move, Cara, when she is awake moves constantly.  We have to buckle her in or she would be in the floor!

She found her hands a little over a week ago and has really gotten into sucking on them.  Addie (haha) took to her thumb almost immediately, Cara I thought was gonna be a paci baby, but now I'm not so sure.  She will take a paci for as long as she needs it and then spits it out(not that I am complaining), Addie wouldn't even think about taking a paci so I guess we shall see soon enough, but she does seem to like her index finger on her left hand.

Since she laughed out loud for the first time on May 3rd her personality has really begun to develop, she is such a happy baby, all smiles just about all the time.  She loves to talk and carry on with you as long as you are willing to talk and carry on with her.  She adores her big sister, follows her all around and is so delighted when Addie takes a moment to stop and talk to her.  She has also made friends in the ceiling like Addie did, so a lot of the time I will find her laughing and talking to the ceiling. She is really a wonderful baby, hardly ever cries and when she does she is easily consoled, I still can't believe I managed to have a second baby just as amazing as the first!

The Previcid seems to be doing really well controlling her reflux and I am so thankful for that!  Hopefully though as soon as she starts sitting up we will be able to wean her off of it.  I have been thinking the past few days about getting the bumbo down because lately it seems that all she wants to do is sit up, she will be in her seat or swing and her head isn't even touching the back.  She wants so badly to be involved in everything going on, it is SO wonderful!

I have been thinking about starting her on rice cereal when I go back to work to help her sleep longer at night and am secretly hoping that this also helps her reflux.  As far as sleeping goes she only really gets up once a night, She goes down around 9 and gets up at 3 or 4 and then 7 and I can't complain about that at all, but when I actually have to get up and go to work, I would like the whole night to sleep.

In a way I can't believe it has already been 3 months yet I also think wow it has ONLY been 3 months, she seems so much older!  I am having the time of my life being the mother of a 3 month old again, although it is a lot more work, I had forgotten how much fun they are!

Addie's Tests

Addie's x-rays and blood tests all came back normal, praise God!  But because she is still having pains, she will now need to be seen by a neurologist to test and see if there is some sort of nerve damage.  I will post more information as it comes.  Please keep her in your prayers!
