The Blessing

Well I can't say that this is just one blessing, because Chris and I have been blessed more than we can count. However, the latest blessing that we have received is a doozie...Chris and I are going to be parents!! Evidently my body reacted very well to the fertility meds, resulting in conception the first go round. But we really know why we are pregnant right now and we don't think it has much of anything to do with the medicine.

At the end of July I had a consultation appointment with my Dr. to see how the Clomid was working for me. When I went in, the nurse asked me if I had taken a test and I informed her that I had on Day 23(If any of you have gone through TTC then you should know what that means)but it was neg. So she asked me if I wanted to take another one, well I told her I would, I didn't think it would be pos. but deep down I was hopeful(aren't we all though). As I sat back down on the table I just started praying...Few minutes later she popped her head in and asked if I had been on any progesterone, I had at the beginning of June, right before I started the Clomid. She said well congratulations(????!!!!!!)I was like WHAT!!!! She said your pregnant, and showed me the test!!!!! OMG I started bawling, then she started crying and she was like I gotta get out of here or I won't make it. So she bagged up my test and gave it to me. There wasn't much consultation needed after that, so when the Dr. came in he congratulated me(of course I'm still in shock here)and we set an appointment for our first OB visit.

God is so good. I mean we didn't expect to ever have kids after the diagnosis we had gotten, but we still had faith. I am convinced that our faith in our lord, and his awesome plan is why we were able to beat the odds. What a great pregnancy we have had too! I mean I was really sick during the first trimaster, but I loved every minute of it. I worry like it will never end, about everything, but God will protect us and whatever is meant to be will be. I mean He has never led us astray before, so we have no reason not to trust in Him.

We are 17 wks now, and Sunday night we felt little Yoda kick for the first time! Ok so I really feel like we are gonna have a girl, but neither Chris nor I want to call it one way or the other, so we have agreed to name it Yoda Snuffleupagus Hughes until we know what it will be. We find out the day after election day what we are having, that's only 8 days!!!

We have told just about everyone now, others that we haven't told I'm sure will hear it through the grapevine eventually. Sorry if we missed you, we didn't do it intentionally. Telling the family went well, some wasn't what we had anticipated, but hey what do you expect especially when we are not the first to have a baby. All in all we have had allot of fun telling everyone especially the fun ways we have told some.

Reunions and Timeshares

So this past Saturday was Chris' 10yr high school reunion, and although I had to drag him there kicking and screaming...well ok maybe he was right...So it really wasn't what I thought it would be. Well we got all dressed up( I thought we looked pretty good) and headed on. We were the first ones to arrive, then right behind us were two guys that Chris knew. He introduced me, and the first thing that one of the guy says is g.d. lets get drunk... Ok not my definition of a good time at all. So we halted basically and turned and went the other way. So after getting our pics taken we went into the banquet hall and found a seat at the table farthest from the bar.

As the night went on and people arrived, they seemed to engulf the bar, I believe that out of the 65 people that were there, there were probably only like 4 or 5 of us that were not drinking. Well we finally got to eat after waiting 1.5 hrs over what was supposed to be dinner time to get our food. At least the food was pretty good. Well the guy that ended up sitting next to me was pretty nice, and there was a couple there that go to the same church as Chris' parents, so Chris was talking to them on the other side. But as soon as we finished dinner, we politely got up, and left.

We went to Krispy Kreme and got a dozen doughnuts, went back to the house and straight to bed. Yeah we are old, but we're happy.

Sunday after church we went out to lunch with Chris' parents, and some others from church. Then we were on our way to the next stop.

See at the air show that we went to a few weeks back, we filled out a door prize slip, and ended up having our names drawn for a 3day 2night trip to Williamsburg, VA. Along with which came a $125 visa gift card and 2 tickets to Busch Gardens, all we had to do was listen to a 90 min. presentation. Yep that's all, and we get all of that!! Ok really... So we get to Williamsburg Sunday evening, and immediately hit the Christmas shops(if you don't know me well, I am a Christmas FREAK!!! The only reason I don't have my decorations up yet would be b/c I am deathly afraid of spiders, and my decorations are upstairs in the attic) We checked in, and went back out checking out the town. Monday morning was our appointment for our 1.5hrs. Next thing we knew it was 2.5 hrs later, and we were talking to our guides supervisor and she was "giving us better rates"...After declining yet again, our guide takes us back to the place we began only to walk into a room filled with more people and round tables...about 45 min. later we were leaving, exhausted and starving. No we did not buy a time share. We did get 2 free t-shirts, but wow those people were BRUTAL!!!!

Well all in all we had a great trip, it was so nice being able to relax just Chris and I. What a weekend we had!!
