So this week I have early drive thru, and for those of you that don't know what that is I come in at 7:15 to open the branch and leave at 4:15 getting exactly 40 hrs for the week. Well Yesterday the babysitter needed to be off by 4:30 well that was not a problem, I told her that would be fine especially since I knew that I was getting off at 4:15. There has been a crack down on overtime lately so what reason would I have to think otherwise?? Well that was just stupid thinking on my part...
It never fails...
So one of the TCD s messed up and was showing out of balance on the system which means they had to physically balance it. By this time I was already closed so really there was nothing more that I could have done, I stood around for a bit so the other teller wasn't by herself, but 4:20 rolled around and I had to go. (I couldn't leave Addie without care, duh) and my manager just stands there and says (as I walk out the door) "can we work with just one teller". I knew he would turn to that, and that is why I left without saying a word. I'm sorry, normally I wouldn't have had a problem with hanging for a while, I love some overtime, BUT I wasn't notified, therefore I had previous engagements.
So this morning in our meeting, guess what was brought up...leaving early when there is only one teller. Now how do we keep down on the overtime, when he doesn't want us to leave early.
Idiot.

Beach Weddings
So this past weekend Chris' cousin Samantha got married on Virginia Beach. We had allot of fun the wedding was beautiful! Of course I have always liked beach weddings, and if Chris and I ever decide to re-do the wedding vows we will probably have the ceremony on the beach. As for Sam she was gorgeous! The wedding was out on the beach of a military base, James' (the Groom) father was military and was able to get access to it. The reception was also on the base, it was real nice and quaint. They had 7 attendants each, dressed in this real pretty blue that just matched the sky right on. Addie had fun just loungin' on the beach, she was not too concerned about playing in the sand at all. On the other hand Hailey played enough in the sand for the two of them. She was covered in sand, and then right before everything was all said and done with she fell in the water! Can't wait until Addie can do all of that! I was nice seeing all of the family there also. Most of them hadn't even met Addie yet, so they were all excited to see her for the first time. She did great out on the beach and then at the reception, not too much fussing, maybe a whimper here or there but that was understandable given how HOT it was!! At one point in the day the thermometer in the car read 111 degrees!
Chris celebrated his first Father's Day on Sunday, aside from having to drive most of the day home from Richmond, I would say all in all it was a pretty good day. Addie and I got him and her T-Shirts with their pictures on them. They were supposed to say Daddy's Addie and Addie's Daddy, but I couldn't figure out to do that. So Chris is actually gonna have to finish his own gift, but I'm sure he doesn't mind.
So after spending the morning with his dad we hit the road and got back into Winston in time to eat dinner with my daddy. A good day with daddies.
Chris,
Thank you for being the best Daddy ever to our little Addie, she is so in love with you, you can tell it when you look at her and she just lights up. You were wonderful, helping me out through the entire pregnancy, then helping during delivery. I couldn't have done it without you, not even a little bit!!! You work so hard everyday to provide for our family, so that we can have nice things. Getting up in the middle of the night to feed and change her and so many times I have woke up without you knowing it and looked in there to see you and her rocking, both asleep in each others arms. I love that you are the father of Addie, and our future children. It takes allot to be a father, but you have every bit of "the touch". As a matter of fact you are not just a father you are a Daddy, Addie's Daddy to be exact.
Daddy,
Thank you for being my Daddy. Over the last 27 years you have been more to me than just a Daddy. You have guided spiritually, so that now I am able to guide my daughter to her path with Christ. You taught me how to be a responsible adult, and for that I am very thankful, I have never gotten in trouble with my finances because I was prepared, and now I have a career in the field. But most of all if it wasn't for you being such a wonderful Daddy and husband to Mama I would never have known what to look for in a husband of my own. Now I am married to a man that is so much like you and sure enough he treats me better than I deserve and we have a beautiful daughter to which he is already a great father and growing more everyday! I love you so much and am very thankful for you.

Back in the Saddle Again...
I can't believe it has been 12 weeks already, boy the time sure did fly by, but as fast as it all went so much happened, here is a recap...
Addie had her first trip to Richmond, and to the Beach. She had her first smile, and her first laugh. She was dedicated and Mommy got to celebrate her first Mommy's Day. Daddy changed his first poopie diaper all by himself. Mommy joined a gym so she will only have the baby to show for it all. Addie is starting to pull up to sit (with assistance), she loves sitting up and even standing! Daddy and Addie have developed a bond that nobody will ever be able to penetrate (not even Mommy). Addie made it to 12lbs!! Addie learned to recognize her song, Mommy's voice, and Daddy's face. Addie went to her first ribfest. Booskers is the same.
Well I have been back to work for a week now and I can't really tell you how I feel about everything exactly...
I love being back at work, most of everything has come back to me, and I am very confident with my speed again. I feel useful, I am bringing in a paycheck again to help support my family (although my first one was only $35, lol, OUCH!) I am doing something with my day and that feels good too instead of just sitting around all day. I hate not being with my little girl, I feel like I don't know her anymore. She is changing so fast and so much and I have only been gone a week...But I know that we will get into a routine I can see one beginning, so it should be just around the corner. The days that Chris has off they spend the whole day playing together, running errands, singing, and just being Daddy and Addie. I am thankful for that, because Addie reacts to him so well, she loves those days, as does Daddy. Life would be good if Chris could be a stay at home dad, on his days when I come home for lunch, he has lunch made for us, and then dinner in the evenings, all the while keeping a perfectly happy baby. What a man!
God has truly blessed me with a wonderful family!! Chris was made to be a Daddy, just as I feel I was made to be a Mommy. I keep her healthy, he keeps her happy. Hopefully the next 12 weeks will be as wonderful as the first.

Mother's Day Events
So it turns out that I am not very good at keeping up with my blogging, sorry about that. Obviously, because Mother's Day was like weeks ago, and I can only imagine it will get worse when I go back to work, OR maybe better since I will be on the computer all day with no interruptions. Only time will tell though, I promise I will try and get better.
The week before Mother's Day this little "make your own pottery" place was having a Mother's Day special so my friend Jennifer and I took the girls and Bryson(her son) to make ourselves and the Grandmothers, Mother's Days gifts. Jennifer and I were childhood friends, and we had lost contact until we reconnected on Myspace and found out that we were both due to have sweet little girls at the same time. She was due April 4th and I was April 6th. Then unbeknownst to me the doctors had her induced Tuesday morning because of the diabetes and to her my water broke Tuesday night!! So sweet baby Leah was born the 24th, and Addie Mae the 25th, they are destined to be BFF s, or we at least like to think so. We had a blast that day! As difficult as it was to paint with the babes we did manage to accomplish what we had gone there to do. How wonderful it is to have someone like her in my life, going through everything right there along with me. Not to mention how oh so sweet Leah and Bryson are!! I can't wait to see Addie and Leah grow up together!!

On Mother's Day we had Addie dedicated at church. It was so wonderful, she wore the dress that my Mom hand made especially for me when I was dedicated. Chris calls it a pillow case, so what if it looked like a pillow case, it was the meaning behind it all that made it so special. She was beautiful, as always. There were 4 couples out of our Sunday School class that had their babies dedicated as well (all but 1 were girls). It was great being able to have them all dedicated there at the same time. Aside from the Oldest (boy) the rest of the babies in our class are about 3 months apart from each other. Which is pretty cool, so soon all of our get togethers will be about the kids. Isn't it funny that at one point in time all of our parents were going through the same changes. This is how we came to know all of our childhood friends...Weird...Anyways so after we got off the stage (which was as hot as hades, I don't know how Pastor Al does it every Sunday up there) we went down and sat with all of our family. We had 3 whole pews taken up!! What a blessing it is to have so many people put their lives on hold to come spend the day with us and our daughter. Afterwards we had a cookout at my parent's house, what a great turnout, what a wonderful day!! I mean some of Chris' Aunts and Uncle came down from Richmond and brought his Grandmother, all of who haven't been to Winston-Salem since we got married in '06, that meant so much to us. We had friends and local family attend as well, it was all so great to have everyone there! I love being a mother!!
I would like to extend a very special thanks to all of the mothers that put aside their Mother's Day for us. My first Mother's Day was so wonderful!! I couldn't have dreamed up a better one, I woke up to the most beautiful little girl, publicly vowed to raise her in a christian home, and then got to share the moment with so many of our friends and family.
To my mother:
Mama now that I know all that you went through to carry me, deliver me, and then raise me all I can do is say thank you. I can only imagine what it was all like being in your shoes while I was growing up. You are the best mother ever, I can only hope to be so wonderful. You care so much about us, you sacrificed so much to raise us to grow into successful adults. As a teenager I stretched the boundaries of our relationship, and if it wasn't for your strong faith in God and the ability of tough love that He gave you I really don't know if we would have made it through. Well I don't wanna know if we would or wouldn't, God has been good and for some reason He gave me another chance, a chance to thank you for being my mother. Mama you took care of me when I was sick, helped me with my homework, taught me how to cook, and clean, but most of all you set the bar for me to become a mother. Well in July the process started for me all along you being so supportive and helpful then in March my every dream came true, and I myself became a mother. I wouldn't have known where to begin if it weren't for you. She was starving and you helped me feed her, I couldn't make it through her first bath so you bathed her, there is so much I still don't know but what I do know is that you are my mother and you will be here to show me the way. So as my journey of being a mother continues, I will turn to you for guidance and hope that one day my daughter will think enough of me to help show her how to be a mother.
You know how most people jokingly say "oh no I am turning into my mother" well I am so proud to say that I am turning into my mother, you are the best, thanks! I Love You!

To My Husband:
Thank you so much for helping make me a mother, it is the greatest joy I have ever experienced. Thank you for supporting me, without you lifting me up as you do I wouldn't be the mother I am or on the road to be. I am most pleased with our little family that we have, Daddy, Mommy, Addie, Booskers. Being a mother is not just about having a child, it is so much more. It is a need that fills me, and I couldn't have done it without you. I am so thankful that God chose me to be your wife and Addie's mother. I don't deserve either one of you, but am so grateful for this blessing. It is just so amazing that Addie is a combination of both of us I mean what an awesome feat, creation and all... I love you and am privileged to be the mother of your child as well as future children, God willing.

To Addie Mae:
You are the apple of my eye. My dear, Mommy's life would not be the same without you. You bring so much joy to my life. In the nine short weeks that I have known you you have been more wonderful than I could have ever dreamed you would be. I am amazed at how you were formed inside of me every crease and hair was created especially for your body from God above. Addie you are the most beautiful little girl that I have ever laid my eyes on from your smiles to your frowns I love every inch unconditionally. I must be really special to God for Him to give up such and angel for me to hold and have for my own. I know little one that one day you are gonna do great things for our Lord, I can see it in your eyes, and that makes Mommy so proud. You have made me the happiest mother on earth, I Love You so much!

Oh the joys...
Oh the Joys of Motherhood...
When she looks at me, looks away and then sticks her tongue out and smiles
When she coos in her sleep
When she grabs at my shirt while she is eating
When she poops and it sounds bad enough to make the poopiest cringe(it sounds worse than it is, however that is spoken from a mother type, I will take a poopy diaper any day! I love it!)
After pooting like a champ, burping like it's no body's business without changing her facial expression (What a Lady)
How she looks at me and melts my heart
How heartbreaking her cry is when she is in the back of the car hungry and I can get to her right away
Having to stop everything I am doing to rock her non-stop during her fussy bits every evening
When she brushes her face up against mine and her eyelashes brush my cheek
How she can be screaming so bad you think it will never end then you put her in the bath and it's shear silence for the entire bath
How she wakes up happy
Real Tears
How her sneezes sound like the stereotypical sneeze Ah-Choo (so perfect)
How inadvertently she will flash the "I Love You" sign
Being the first to witness her fist smile then being able to show everyone else
How funny she looks from the front view when Daddy is burping her
When I am holding her and her hand softly brushes my skin
Laying next to her to help her sleep
How she talks to herself, as well as others
Catching her very first laugh
How when she is asleep in her car seat and I get her out and she just folds around me
8 weeks into this Dream Come True I couldn't be happier, Oh how I never want this to end! I still look at her and think that any minute I am gonna wake up or I will have to give her back at the end of the day. I still can't believe that she is mine, how someone like me could be blessed with one a sweet as her. I don't deserve anything close to how wonderful she is! Lord thank you for this angel you have sent me, watch over her for she is everything I live for. A mother really does live with her heart outside of her body, and mine is enveloped in this little girl's hands.

Look-A-Like Meter
Well this is all I have to say to everyone who asks if she looks like Chris or I, she is equally both and that's what makes her so perfect!
